it seems as though technology is taking over the world. first it was the new iphone acting like a slave and texting a friend for you- all you do is speak into the phone and tell the phone what you want it to text your mate. wheres the fun in this? talk about obesity levels rising! my friend sammy has it and it is fair to say it is the start of something new and revolutionary, and it actually works! maybe the world will be amazing in twenty years time with robots able to drive us to work and back and scratch our backs, but the people of the world won't even have to lift a finger! it's already started with texting- wheres the communication here?! your mate might aswell be texting her/himelf. fat fingers galore. give those fingers some exercise and get texting. (maybe i'm only saying this because my iphone doesn't give me this choice)- still an amazing and very clever idea, even if our fingers become a bit weighty.

anyway, on a more positive note, the trial for the new BODY SCANNER has started up in NEW LOOK. i haven't been to see it as its quite far from where i live, however we do have one of these at the university im studying at. so, this one in new look has been brought in to help find the perfect fit on JEANS. first of all, new look have the worst sizing measurements- every pair of jeans fits totally differently when they really shouldn't. some are way too big, some are way too small- and all claim to be for the same size body.

the BODY SCANNERS are great, especially in terms of tailoring- no more tape measures. men can get their suit measurements done in an instance, and a suit is something that has to fit perfect, especially if a lot of money is being spent on it. so, this body scanner is being trialled out in new look, which i reckon is a great idea as a great number of women i know would love to find the perfect fit for their figure. however, i can't help but think the older customer is more body concious- wanting to know what will suit them, what won't and what is the perfect size for them. so wouldn't the body scanners be more beneficial and maybe be more at use in an older market such as Marks and Spencers?

the routine is, you strip of your clothes down to your underwear, and step into the scanner. the door is shut and your are in there for around a minute. at my uni, the results can be printed off straight away so your body measurements, including bra and hip size, can be found straight away. however, from reading reviews it seems as though new looks body scan results don't get sent to the customer until about two weeks later- not much use to the customer then, when they have left the store and probably won't be back for another month or two.

also, how much do the body scanner staff actually technically know about the measurements etc.? will they be able to tell me my body shape and the perfect jeans for me? it just makes me wonder if technology is really the way forward in terms of fashion. it would be very useful to know your exact measurements, yet it doesn't change the way the retailers are making their clothes- there are only certain and very few retailers you will find that cater to your exact body shape, none of this will change. until we can all afford to be buying victoria beckham style jeans, we are just going to have to stick to the mediocre sizes of ten, twelve, fourteen etc. and leave the body scanning and exact measurements until we can buy jeans in these measurements.great for bra sizing though! i am not dismissing the body scanner nor am i saying i think it is a bad idea- its a great idea! however, there are a lot of flaws in this i reckon can be worked on in order to make this piece of technology the absolute best and make everyone want to have it done. what do you think of the idea, would you want it done? let me know.

friend or faux?

thought i would get wintery and treat myself to a new lippy- getting a bit sick of wearing MYTH.

instead, i bought FAUX. its got a kind of purply/browny tint to it, yet still keeping it pinky. and its not too strong, i wanted a lippy that was a kind of lip colour. i also bought the jumper i have on in the VERY BLURRED picture-- £29 from mango. very snug fit and not itchy at all- especially compared to the signature red knit in topshop that was very itchy when i tried it on and seemed a bit out of shape. this was a great find. ill get a picture up soon of the whole thing.

13.50 for faux. great for blondes and brunettes.

another great winter must have for your FACE is :

a MAC creme blush- my fave is POSEY.

- rub a little onto the upper side of your hand before applying, this will stop you going too mad with pinkness on your cheeks
- put on top of your foundation and bronzer
- a great tip is to put the blusher not straight onto the HIGHEST part of your cheekbone, instead put it on the lowest part (if you suck your cheeks in your will find this), if you smooth it onto the indents when your face is in this funny position, it will give your a lot more definition to your cheeks and make your cheekbones look higher. this espcially works with more of the browny tones of blusher, like MAC PRISM.
- for that extra winter touch, pat a little bit of the creme blusher onto your nose- it will give you even more of a snowy glow.

BENEFIT MOON BEAM illuminating highlighter- a.k.a the best little thing in my make-up bag

- put a little dab onto the tops of your cheeks and follow round and up towards the side of your eyebrow

- you can also put it onto the bone bit underneath the ends of your eyebrows

- it gives a real highlight to your cheekbones and eyes- catwalk style

- i use the honey shade, but they also do a more pinkyy pearly shade for the ladies that like their make-up and shine more rosy.
