ice cream hair!

URBAN DICTIONARY-a hairstyle, favored by african american women, in which hair is swirled and varnished in a way that it resembles the swirl of a dairy-queen ice cream cone- this is not what i'm talkin' about.

bye bye ombre- THIS is what i'm talkin' about!
i love it

even whitney is doing it, but with a creamy blonde

making up

hello there!
i am no make-up expert, but one tip my make-up artist mother goose has taught me is to always apply foundation with your fingers- never use a brush. don't dab it around your face before massaging in, get a bit on your finger, and massage it around your face, starting from the inside and working your way out, then apply more to the next part. this technique also reduces the chances of getting foundation marks where your chin stops and neck starts.also, if you find your make-up is wearing off halfway through the day, this is due to the dead skin cells on your face where your make-up is lying. i was advised to exfoliate and use a toner on my face a few times a week to make my make-up last longer- make-up wipes just push more dirt into your pores helping even more of your make-up to wear away.

hope this helps!

twenty pound and also the best

oh crumbs

i made cupcakes today. i had this great idea in my head of them coming out of the oven, great big warm soft muffins, and i would become a world famous cupcake maker and spend my days icing cakes and wearing aprons and listening to fifties music on the radio whilst dancing around the kitchen and little birds would perch on the window and tweet to the song and i would start growing my own vegetables i would deliver them to little houses in the country and answer the door with flour on my face and say "oh yes, im just baking". i didnt visualise breaking my teeth when biting into one.

however, the breakfast was spot on! #not so glamourous

i am off to the pub!x

hair scare

flicking through heat, i noticed danni minogue sporting a new cropped hairstyle. i am not a fan of it, and hate the idea (can mostly be seen on americas next top model) that to do something 'different' and 'trendy' with your hair you have to cut it all off, which unfortunately winds up in losing a sense of femininity in your style. the cropped pixie style looks great on some people, however danni minogue already looked fabulous the way she was, why change! i believe her new doo has added about five years onto the way she looks, and her reasons for doing it were probably to do with the fact that she is a new mum and is going against anything that merely resembles 'mumsy'. she still looks gorgeous, i just wanted to make a point that to chop all of your hair off into a boyish style does not make you instantly quirky or current, and remember your hairstlye can change the way you dress- with a pixie crop, femininty is key- steer away from overly baggy clothes that don't show off your curves (this can also make your body look bigger than your head!), and stick to skinny jeans, heels, cute jackets and figure hugging dresses and tops.

doughnut doo

i say do to doughnuts! i bought one about five months ago, and with the weather being humid whilst on holiday, it was so easy to use and looked good every time!
not sure how to use one?;

1. pull all your hair back into a ponytail.
2. put the doughnut around your ponytail, pulling your hair through the hole, letting the doughnut rest where your bobble is tied.
3. simply grip hair all the way around the doughnut

(the electricity had gone off in the villa at this point- hence why my hair doesn't look great, however thank the lord for the doughnut in times of no electricity!)

simple! i got mine from primark for 99p- a big difference to this one from boots costing £4.50; and they both do exactly the same job!

and god created woman

confidence and curves-
dominating her way into the 1950s, the world wasn't quite ready for brigitte bardot,with the most beautiful face in the history of faces and her womanly curves,was the epitomy of a woman and sex appeal. looking at images of brigitte, she shows she didn't need a 'unique' sense of style or didn't need to try too hard to be fashionable. her style could be found through her infamous bardot barnett and heavy eye make-up, wearing something or nothing with confidence. she is amongst audrey and marilyn in terms of fashion icons and the style stakes, yet all the while her outfit choices consisted of a lot of black, leather, capri pants and ballet pumps

-proving that fashion isn't what you wear, it's how you wear it.

blog about a blog

i just came across this blog, and its hilarious! it basically states everything wrong with the typical fashion blogs, and makes you realise how stupidly boring it is to visit a blog and be shown pictures of expensive clothes and shoes you can't afford. obviously nice to look at, but are any of us going to follow through with buying these things? to be honest, i'm not really into bloggers who moan all the time. but this one has a point.

in reality, most of these high end fashion bloggers probably doing similar things to what i'm doing today;
it's a sunday, and i am currently sat in my pyjamas, waith my dog, catching up on last nights BIG BROTHER. (people annoy me when they moan about big brother-don't moan about it, just don't watch it). soon i will be giving my mum a lift to tesco, helping her cook the sunday dinner, eating, then watching more tv.
i don't need to research the internet to find something new in the designer world to talk about.

i tried to look for a dress for the wedding at the weekend, but still no luck! however, i bought some black, suede chelsea boots from topshop, £36.00, and they are surprisingly comfy! i bought them in brown a few weeks before however they were quite flimsy with a weak sole. these new black ones are really sturdy and feel a lot more well made. i definitely recommend buying these if you were thinking about buying some chelsea boots, as they are really worth the money. i really want them in leopard print- i am a creature of habit.

i also bought some black cigarette pants from zara, £25.99 and so easy to wear. think i will trade these in for my topshop jeans which i have been wearing religiously for the past year (and now have a hole in the knee).
they look great with my new boots, and a printed top tucked in.

#i don't think zara do any justice to their clothes with the pictures on the website. it annoys me.
