carlie ferns

sorry, i forgot to introduce myself. this is me, carlie ferns. i thought this was important as personally i like to know what people look like to be able to enjoy reading what they are writing. for instance, when starting off a book, when getting to know the character, i relate them to a particular actress or actor.

this is the most recent and decent picture i can find of myself, it was taken this summer in turkey with my boyfriend liam.

i do not have pictures of myself, taken by myself. the only time i find this acceptable is to show you guys what i need to show you.

be my guest

okay, so i am jumping into the deep end with this, as its something i neeeed to get off my chest.

so i am going to a wedding in four weeks time, and i'm not the sort of coast, satin, karen millen, 1990s dress kinda girl. i dont wear the whole ruched, corsage kind of number (please note; for mums its fine to do this, a 19 year old girl- nono), however looking through topshop all i see is what i would wear everyday. there isn't an inbetween! my only solution as of yet is to opt for an on-trend midi dress, which is a trend i haven't invested into as of yet as i am scared of looking like a granny, or a cute red dress- going against the whole 'blondes shouldn't wear red'. these are my options as of yet- will keep you posted.

on the other hand...

is this too inappropriate for a wedding? #trying to be beyonce

i would if i could!

i am no fashionista

nor will this blog be a hub for the catwalk obsessed, haute couture, fashion fanatic. i am simply a real girl, where the most expensive piece of clothing i own is my school prom dress. i am a fashion student, however i do not religiously follow catwalks and designer; instead, fashion for me is highly influenced by red carpet, tv, music, magazines and high street stores. i want to use this blog to reassure the high street girl that to be fashionable you don't need to follow catwalks as i know the clothes in my wardrobe do not merely resemble high end designers newest catwalk collections. i love to write; i have opinions and combining this with my views on fashion, new pieces i have bought and my genuine personal life (even though it may not be the most exciting), hopefully, it will keep you guys following.
